The Single Mothers’ Alliance for Gender & Economic Justice works to achieve economic thriving for lone-mother led families, gender equality, racial justice and decolonization through an intersectional feminist approach. Our advocacy and initiatives are based on a women’s and children’s human rights foundation informed by the social determinants of health. SMA’s framework, campaigns and initiatives are determined through collaborative listening campaigns we conduct on a regular basis with our membership throughout BC.
Through March, April and May 2021, we conducted a province-wide listening campaign and a post-pandemic survey to determine our focus, priorities, and strategic plan for 2021-2024.
