Our Recommendations:

1. Extend basic health services and benefits to all in British Columbia that include a wide range of medical and health services, supplies and devices, including medication, contraception, dental care and counselling, with no deductible or co-payment. 

2. First Step:  Expand extended basic health services now available to those accessing income and disability assistance to all those living below BC’s poverty line with an enhanced focus on medication, contraception, dental care, and counselling, with no deductible or co-payment. 

Further Recommendations: 

1. Support the development of the community health centre model and implement community health centres throughout the province.  

2. Decrease the Sunny Hill Health Centre waiting time for specialized development assessments 50% and reduce waiting time to a maximum of 8 weeks by 2024.
